Teucrium Delays 2x Short Daily XRP ETF Again

A Teucrium SEC filing dated Sept. 11 sets the earliest start for its 2x Short Daily XRP ETF to Oct. 11, 2026, marking the 19th postponement.

Teucrium Funds pushed back the planned launch of its 2x Short Daily XRP ETF for the 19th time. A filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dated Sept. 11 sets Oct. 11, 2026 as the earliest day the fund could begin trading. The date in the filing represents permission to list, not confirmation that trading will start.

The fund is structured to deliver twice the inverse of XRP’s daily return. According to the filing, it would achieve that exposure through contracts with trading counterparties and other derivatives rather than holding XRP directly. The filing leaves the fund’s stated strategy, fees and risk disclosures unchanged.

Public SEC records show the same three-page filing arriving roughly every month since April 4, 2025. Each filing has reset the earliest effectiveness date; the documents filed to date do not provide operational explanations for the repeated delays.

Teucrium launched a 2x long XRP product in April 2025 that began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The company chose to postpone the short version; regulators have not recorded an action blocking the product.

Market moves tied to the fund’s purpose happened while the short ETF remained unlisted. XRP traded as high as $3.65 in July 2025 and was near $1.37 at the time of the Sept. 11 filing, a decline of more than 60% from the peak. During the token’s decline, several listed funds that hold XRP attracted inflows. Flow data for the most recent 20 trading days show $190.5 million in inflows to those long XRP funds, and cumulative inflows to similar listed products since their launches total about $1.70 billion.

The filings that delay the short product have been routine and limited to changing the earliest effective date. The filings do not explain the delays; market participants will monitor whether the Oct. 11, 2026 date leads to an actual listing.
