Ripple, Robinhood Partner On RLUSD Settlement And Treasury
Ripple’s RLUSD is live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood under a new partnership, while its Robinhood app listing is expected later in 2026.
Ripple and Robinhood announced a partnership on Oct. 27, 2026, covering RLUSD settlement, treasury management and institutional market services. RLUSD is live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood. Its listing in the Robinhood app is expected later this year, but no launch date has been provided.
Robinhood will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement. Its financial operations will adopt Ripple Treasury for cash and liquidity management, payment processing, cash-flow forecasting, risk management and intercompany transactions. The Treasury rollout is underway.
The agreement expands an existing relationship through Ripple Prime, Ripple’s institutional markets platform. Ripple Prime provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing across about 20 digital assets and gives its clients access to spot trading on Bitstamp. Perpetual futures trading on Bitstamp is expected to be added through Ripple Prime later this year.
The partnership covers Robinhood’s retail and institutional businesses. Robinhood has 28.6 million funded customers globally and serves institutional clients through Bitstamp.
Ripple reported that the total stablecoin market has grown beyond $300 billion. RLUSD, which launched in December 2024, has a market capitalization of more than $2.4 billion, according to figures cited in the announcement.
“Utility is what moves stablecoins forward,” Johann Kerbrat, senior vice president and general manager of Robinhood Crypto and International, said in the announcement. “Working with Ripple, Bitstamp and Robinhood will have access to RLUSD for institutional settlement, Ripple Treasury for our operations, and Ripple Prime for financing.”
Ripple President Monica Long described the agreement as covering retail and institutional markets and Robinhood’s treasury operations. “From bringing RLUSD to retail and institutional markets to helping Robinhood manage its own treasury operations, this partnership reflects growing institutional demand for integrated solutions that support both customer-facing offerings and core financial operations,” she said.
RLUSD is pegged to the U.S. dollar and operates on the XRP Ledger. Transactions on the ledger require small XRP-denominated network fees, which are burned. Ripple has not provided a forecast for XRP’s price. XRP traded at about $1.32 at roughly 22:00 UTC on Oct. 27, up 2.2% over 24 hours, with a market capitalization of approximately $83.7 billion.
The agreement does not replace Robinhood’s existing relationship with USDG, a dollar-backed stablecoin that Robinhood helped launch. Robinhood has not said whether RLUSD will receive the same role as USDG in its lending products.
