WhiteBIT EU Secures MiCA Authorization in Austria

WB-Shield Innovations GmbH (WhiteBIT EU) received MiCA authorization from Austria’s Financial Market Authority, permitting regulated crypto-asset services for eligible EEA users.

WB-Shield Innovations GmbH, which operates as WhiteBIT EU, announced it has received authorization under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) from the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA). The authorization allows the firm to provide regulated crypto-asset services to eligible users across the European Economic Area, subject to passporting, onboarding and applicable local regulatory requirements.

The company said the Austrian approval followed a substantive regulatory review in a jurisdiction with established financial supervision. WhiteBIT EU described the license as central to its plan to build a regulated European presence and to offer services covered by MiCA throughout the EEA.

WhiteBIT, founded in 2018, operates as part of W Group. The company reports that W Group serves more than 35 million customers globally. WhiteBIT’s commercial partnerships include Visa, FACEIT, Barcelona FC, Juventus and the Ukrainian national football team.

As part of its transition to the MiCA framework, WhiteBIT is preparing to launch a dedicated platform for EEA users at whitebit.eu. The company opened a registration form for prospective customers to receive updates when the platform becomes available.

MiCA establishes a single EU-wide regulatory framework for crypto-asset service providers. The regulation sets requirements on governance, transparency, client protection and market integrity for firms operating in the EEA.

Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, stated, “WhiteBIT was originally founded as a European exchange, and Europe remains at the core of our long-term vision.” The company described the press release as a marketing communication for the purposes of applicable regulations.
