Whale Sells Half of UNI and COMP, Locks in $39.7M Loss
Wallet 0xfa93, which spent $62.83M on UNI and COMP in July 2025, deposited 2.705M UNI and 114,352 COMP to Binance on May 25, 2026, realizing about $39.7M loss.
Wallet 0xfa93, which bought UNI and COMP in July 2025, deposited large portions of both tokens to Binance on May 25, 2026. The transfers moved 2.705 million UNI and 114,352 COMP onto the exchange.
In July 2025 the wallet accumulated 5.41 million UNI at about $9.52 each, spending roughly $51.53 million, and 228,704 COMP at about $49.41 each, spending roughly $11.30 million. The total purchase cost for the two positions was about $62.83 million.
When the wallet moved assets to Binance on May 25, 2026, the deposited lot of 2.705 million UNI was valued at about $9.23 million and the 114,352 COMP at roughly $2.31 million, using prevailing exchange prices at the time of the transfer.
UNI has been trading near $3.36–$3.40, about 64% below the wallet’s $9.52 entry price. COMP has been trading around $20.21, about 59% below the $49.41 purchase price. Based on those prices, the combined unrealized loss on the original $62.83 million position is roughly $39.7 million.
The deposits moved roughly half of each token holding from the original position onto a major spot trading venue. The wallet retains the remaining balance on-chain; the status of that balance and any future transfers have not changed since the May 25 deposits.
Uniswap’s governance passed a UNIfication proposal in December 2025 that activated a fee switch to allocate a portion of trading fees to UNI buybacks and burns. Despite that change, UNI traded mostly below $4 for much of 2026. COMP has traded lower since the July 2025 purchases amid competition from Aave and newer lending platforms.
Some on-chain analysts have suggested a possible link between wallet 0xfa93 and IOSG Ventures, a crypto venture firm. That attribution has not been independently verified. Whether the wallet will move or sell the remaining holdings is not known and will be visible only through further on-chain activity.
