Three stablecoin trends in MENA, North America and LATAM

Binance co-founder Yi He posted that platform data show three regional stablecoin patterns: rising savings in MENA, local‑currency trading in North America (ex‑U.S.) and doubled LATAM transfers.

On July 8, Binance co-founder and co‑CEO Yi He posted on X that daily activity from millions of Binance users revealed three regional trends in stablecoin use.

The first trend is in the Middle East and North Africa. MENA’s share of stablecoin savings on Binance Earn rose from 5.53% to 9.21%, making it the fastest‑growing region for those savings products on the platform. Binance Earn lets users lock stablecoins and other assets into savings and yield products.

The second trend is in North America excluding the United States. Binance data show the strongest growth in trading of local‑currency stablecoins in these markets, with users increasingly trading stablecoins pegged to their own currencies rather than only U.S. dollar‑backed options.

The third trend is in Latin America. The share of stablecoin transfer users from LATAM increased from 17% to 38% since 2025, more than doubling over that period. Binance identified LATAM as a region with fast growth in transfer activity.

Yi wrote on X that Binance observes large daily activity across its user base: “Every day at Binance, we see millions of users interacting with digital assets in different ways.” In the same post she noted, “When financial tools are faster, more affordable, and easier to access, people don’t just try them – they make them part of everyday life.”

Yi He co‑founded Binance in 2017 and was named co‑CEO in December 2025. She shares the co‑CEO role with Richard Teng.

Binance did not provide a full timeline for all regional shifts and attributed the changes to patterns of daily use across its platform. The company identified the three trends as differing regional priorities: savings in MENA, currency‑aligned trading in parts of North America, and transfers in LATAM.
