Thea raises $8M to build Solana-based AI settlement network

Thea raised $8 million from Maven 11 Capital, Spartan Group and others to develop Thea Network, a Solana-anchored settlement layer using off-chain compute and zero-knowledge proofs.

Thea has closed an $8 million strategic funding round led by Maven 11 Capital and Spartan Group, with participation from Manifold Trading, Fisher8 Capital, Hack VC and several angel investors connected to crypto-native groups such as Galois Capital.

The funding will support expansion of Thea’s behavioral AI infrastructure and the development of Thea Network, a settlement layer designed to manage payments and coordination for AI services across distributed applications.

Thea Network is being built as a federated, trust-minimized settlement system anchored to the Solana blockchain. The platform will use off-chain compute and zero-knowledge proofs to record and verify service requests and outcomes while limiting on-chain computation.

The company says the network will let AI models, humans and autonomous agents request, pay for and verify services. Tokenization could be used to create programmable payment rails, but Thea confirmed it currently has no token and has not announced an initial coin offering or public sale.

Technically, Thea plans a partitioned off-chain compute architecture that anchors cryptographic proofs to Solana. Independent requests and their proofs can be processed in parallel, which the company expects will allow horizontal scaling of request settlement while keeping heavy computation off-chain.

Off-chain processing will handle the main workload. Solana anchoring and zero-knowledge proofs will provide integrity checks and verifiable settlement records without putting all computation on a blockchain.

Thea describes the network as federated so participants can coordinate AI-driven work while reducing reliance on a single operator. Use cases the company highlights include autonomous agents requesting specialized models, machines paying for services and multi-party verification of results across systems.

Investors have been allocating capital to infrastructure for machine-to-machine payments, verifiable compute and agent coordination. Thea’s immediate tasks are to build payment and settlement rails, expand its behavioral AI stack and make the network available to developers and enterprises for real-world AI workflows.
