SUI Falls to $0.72 at Gaussian Channel Support

SUI fell to about $0.72 this week, returning to the lower band of its Gaussian Channel. Chart watchers say a confirmed increase in buying volume at that band could send the token back to the channel midpoint.
Traders including Soka Data and Tizzy Vegas highlighted the setup on social media. The Gaussian Channel plots three bands — upper, middle and lower — around price using an adaptive moving average and statistical principles. Traders use the bands as dynamic support and resistance, and a bounce off the lower band is often read as an early reversal signal. One user, El Tigre, wrote that if the band holds and volume increases, a push to the midpoint looks reasonable.
SUI is trading near $0.7206, with a market capitalization of about $2.92 billion and 24-hour trading volume around $135 million. The circulating supply is just over 4 billion tokens. The current price sits roughly 86% below SUI’s all-time high of $5.35 from January 2025.
Institutional activity on the Sui network continued while the price pulled back. Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Capital tokenized a $75 million private markets fund on July 23, 2026, with tokens issued primarily on Base, Solana and Sui and additional share classes on Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon and Sei. The fund is administered by KAIO, is aimed at qualified institutional and accredited investors, and carries a minimum investment around $100,000. Coinbase holds a direct balance sheet stake in the fund.
Network development work has progressed. The Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs launched the Hashi testnet to allow bitcoin to be used as loan collateral without wrapping; more than 25 institutional partners, including custody firms Bitgo and Ledger, are testing the protocol. In May, a protocol change removed fees for stablecoin transfers on Sui, and the network later reported stablecoin transaction volume passing $65 billion.
Market participants view the immediate test as whether buy orders and higher volume make the lower Gaussian band hold. If buyers step in with sufficient volume, traders say a move back to the channel midpoint would be plausible; if not, the token could retest lower support levels.
