Spot Bitcoin ETFs Post Largest June Outflow as BTC Falls
US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded June’s largest single-day net outflow of $696.3 million as Bitcoin fell below $60,000, taking June outflows to $3.61 billion and YTD outflows to $4.6 billion.
US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds posted June’s largest single-day net outflow on Thursday, losing $696.3 million as Bitcoin fell below $60,000. The withdrawals pushed June’s total outflows to $3.61 billion and brought year-to-date net outflows to $4.6 billion, according to SoSoValue data.
SoSoValue shows combined net assets of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs fell to about $72.6 billion, the lowest level since late 2024 and down roughly 57% from a record $169.5 billion reached in October 2025. Bitcoin’s market price has declined about 50% from that October peak.
WalletPilot reported the funds held roughly 1.24 million Bitcoin as of Tuesday, with about 63,500 BTC withdrawn from those products over the past 30 days. Outflows include investor redemptions and adjustments by fund managers to respond to market moves.
Institutional demand moderated in June. Company filings show Strategy reduced its Bitcoin accumulation to about 3,600 BTC in June, down from roughly 25,000 BTC in May and more than 50,000 BTC in April. The company recorded a net sale of 32 BTC earlier in June.
Strategy’s perpetual preferred stock, STRC, traded at $75.69 on Thursday, a decline of 6.37% for the day, below the security’s intended $100 level. CryptoQuant analysts raised questions about the timing and risk management of the company’s Bitcoin purchases. Bitcoin advocate Samson Mow noted STRC includes a ‘self-repairing mechanism’ that pauses at-the-market share issuance when the security trades below $100.
The ETF outflows and the slowdown in corporate buying reduced assets under management and the amount of Bitcoin held in U.S. spot ETF products. Monthly outflows of $3.61 billion continued the redemptions trend that began in late 2025.
