Saylor’s orange‑dot bitcoin chart returns, traders watch

Michael Saylor reposted his orange‑dot bitcoin chart on July 5, showing 113 buy events and 847,363 BTC as traders monitor Strategy for a possible new purchase after a $2.55B reserve plan.

Michael Saylor posted his orange‑dot bitcoin chart on July 5, showing 113 purchase events and total holdings of 847,363 BTC. Traders watched the image for clues about whether Strategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) will announce another bitcoin purchase.

The chart maps Strategy’s bitcoin acquisitions against bitcoin price movements to show accumulation across market conditions. Saylor captioned the image, “Bitcoin is Digital Energy.” Strategy’s public dashboard on July 5 listed holdings of 847,363 BTC valued at $53.116 billion, bitcoin per share at 211,157 sats, enterprise value at $57.112 billion and annual dividends of $1.762 billion.

A similar orange‑dot chart a week earlier was followed by the company’s disclosure of a capital plan. On June 29, Strategy adopted a Digital Credit Capital Framework intended to strengthen preferred securities, improve liquidity and preserve its long‑term bitcoin exposure. The framework includes a USD reserve policy, changes to STRC dividends, repurchases of Digital Credit Securities, MSTR share buybacks and a BTC monetization program.

The BTC monetization program allows bitcoin sales to build reserves, fund or replenish dividends and interest payments, or support repurchases. The company noted that it is not required to sell bitcoin and that any sale would depend on market conditions, liquidity needs, tax and accounting considerations, legal requirements and management’s assessment of shareholder value.

Strategy reported about $2.55 billion in USD reserves as of July 5, equal to roughly 17.4 months of expected preferred dividends and interest expense. With $1.25 billion in board‑authorized BTC monetization capacity, the company reported total liquidity coverage of about $3.80 billion, or 25.9 months. Saylor wrote that “Strategy remains committed to bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset.”

The orange‑dot graphic serves as a visual record of past purchases and a prompt for investors to consult the company’s dashboard and the new capital framework when assessing future bitcoin transactions. The dashboard figures and framework set out the conditions and liquidity measures Strategy will consider before selling or buying bitcoin.
