Ripple Prime Links EDX Spot and Perpetual Futures

Ripple Prime integrated with EDX Markets and EDXM International on May 19, giving institutional clients unified access to spot and perpetual futures liquidity; RLUSD is planned for settlement.

Ripple Prime integrated with EDX Markets and EDXM International on May 19, giving institutional clients access to EDX’s spot venue and EDXM International’s perpetual futures market through its global prime brokerage platform.

The integration routes EDX Markets’ spot venue and EDXM International’s perpetual futures market into Ripple Prime’s single brokerage interface, combining trading, credit intermediation, net settlement, margin and collateral tools. Clients can place orders and manage positions across both venues while Ripple Prime handles intermediation and counterparty exposure within the platform.

EDX Markets is presented as a primary price discovery venue for spot trading. EDXM International offers perpetual futures trading with market structures modeled on traditional finance and with deep liquidity. EDX will provide firm prices and low trading costs for professional market participants.

Ripple stated the combined access point is intended to improve capital efficiency by consolidating fragmented liquidity and settlement processes. The integration provides a single route into EDX Markets’ spot venue and EDXM International’s perpetual futures exchange, allowing institutions to execute and settle trades through the same brokered channel.

Ripple plans to support RLUSD, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, as a regulated settlement and collateral asset on EDX. If implemented, RLUSD would let clients post and receive margin in a dollar-pegged digital asset, enabling cross-collateralization and margin efficiency across spot and perpetual futures trading on the connected venues.

Michael Higgins, international CEO of Ripple Prime, described EDX as “institutional-grade and delivers the performance, reliability, and depth that our clients expect.” Ripple Prime stated the integration will make EDX’s market structure accessible through its capital-efficient framework.

EDX Markets products are available only to institutions in the United States and certain other jurisdictions. EDXM International does not offer products or services to persons or entities in the United States, the European Union, or the United Kingdom.

Ripple Prime is Ripple’s multi-asset prime broker for institutional clients. EDX Markets operates a centralized spot venue; EDXM International provides a separate venue focused on perpetual futures. RLUSD is proposed to enable regulated settlement and collateral workflows within institutional trading on EDX.
