Ripple Gives $250,000 to 25 Veteran-Owned Businesses

Ripple awarded $250,000 in RLUSD grants to 25 veteran- and military spouse-owned firms via Hire Heroes USA; each received $10,000, training and access to 20,000+ candidates.

Ripple awarded $250,000 in RLUSD-funded grants to 25 veteran- and military spouse-owned businesses through a collaboration with Hire Heroes USA. Each recipient received a $10,000 grant plus training and access to more than 20,000 military-connected job seekers.

The grants were distributed under The Ripple Effect: Certified Veteran Employer Grants Program, a joint initiative between Ripple and Hire Heroes USA. Awardees will take part in Hire Heroes USA’s Certified Veteran Employer training and receive recruiting tools, employer resources and guidance on creating veteran-ready workplaces. Applicants had to be at least 51% owned by a veteran or a military spouse and demonstrate plans to hire from the military community within 12 to 18 months.

Recipients represent sectors including information technology, cybersecurity, consulting and professional services. Ripple described the funding as paired with workforce development support rather than a standalone cash award, with the intention of helping businesses expand while connecting them to candidates seeking civilian employment.

Jonathan Perri, director of social impact at Ripple, described veteran and military spouse-owned businesses as “a critical source of innovation, job creation, and economic opportunity.” He characterized the program as “a direct investment in entrepreneurs who are committed to hiring from the military community and building businesses that last.”

Ripple has previously allocated larger RLUSD commitments to veteran employment and small-business development. The company earlier pledged $25 million in RLUSD to Hire Heroes USA and the Accion Opportunity Fund. Ripple said its broader partnership with Hire Heroes USA is expected to create about 14,000 employment opportunities and support a program focused on financial technology careers.

Hire Heroes USA will track hiring, retention and business-growth data from grant participants to assess whether the program produces measurable workforce results. Participating employers will receive tools intended to streamline recruiting and support retention of military-connected hires.
