Quickswap adopts Orbs Layer-3 perps after 81.8% vote

Quickswap set Orbs’ Perpetual Hub Ultra 2.0 as its default perpetual futures infrastructure across all supported chains after 81.8% of QUICK holders approved the governance vote.

Quickswap voters approved making Orbs’ Perpetual Hub Ultra 2.0 the exchange’s default infrastructure for perpetual futures trading after an 81.8% governance vote. The decision applies to all blockchains Quickswap currently supports.

The governance vote concluded in mid-July 2026. The change replaces Quickswap’s previous Orderly-powered Falkor deployment on Polygon PoS and expands the Orbs-based perpetuals system that Quickswap first deployed on Base in late 2025.

Perpetual Hub Ultra 2.0 provides a full perpetual futures stack including trade execution, settlement, hedging, liquidation, pricing and a trading interface. Orbs runs the system on its Layer 3 infrastructure without third-party dependencies and routes orders to multiple liquidity venues so markets are available at launch. Execution takes place inside a trusted execution environment and price feeds are cryptographically signed; state roots are committed on-chain through rollup settlement.

Orbs operates as a Layer 3 network secured by delegated proof-of-stake validators. The protocol reports more than 1.12 billion ORBS tokens staked across its permissionless validator set. Orbs’ architecture is designed for on-chain transparency and user self-custody while providing faster execution and capital efficiency compared with basic on-chain setups.

Quickswap launched in 2020 and runs on Polygon PoS and Base. The platform uses QUICK token holder governance to approve major protocol and product changes. Quickswap had already integrated several Orbs-powered features prior to the vote, including decentralized time-weighted average price orders (dTWAP), decentralized limit orders (dLIMIT) and a Liquidity Hub.

The switch unifies Quickswap’s perpetual futures infrastructure under a single Layer 3 solution that supports execution, pricing and settlement in an integrated way and removes the prior Falkor dependency.

Ran Hammer, vice president of business development at Orbs, described the upgrade as: “A top-tier DEX running a complete perps stack natively on Layer 3, with liquidity from day one and execution quality that rivals centralized venues. An 81.8% community vote says it all — decentralized markets are ready to compete with traditional finance on its own terms.”
