OKX credits 20 USDT to La Guaira residents after quakes

OKX will credit 20 USDT to users who verify a La Guaira address after the June 24 twin earthquakes. Credits are applied automatically to eligible accounts on a first-come, first-served basis.

OKX will credit 20 USDT to users who provide proof of address showing they live in La Guaira after the June 24, 2026, twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela. The quakes killed more than 2,000 people and caused hundreds of buildings to collapse in the state, according to official counts.

The exchange said eligible accounts will receive the 20 USDT once La Guaira residency is confirmed. Credits are automatic and do not require registration, a claim code or any qualifying transaction. OKX did not disclose the total sum allocated to the effort or a deadline for when eligibility must be confirmed.

On its Latam social account, OKX expressed support for affected communities and wrote: “We know that these days have been difficult. But we have also seen something extraordinary: the solidarity of Venezuela and the entire international community, which fills us with hope. We know that the road ahead will require effort, help, and support from everyone for a long time. But you will not walk it alone. We are one region, and we will be with you on this journey. We stand with you, Venezuela.”

The distribution is limited and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis to accounts that meet the proof-of-address requirement. The company said credits will be applied without additional steps once eligibility is confirmed.

Binance announced a separate pledge of $3 million to assist users across several Venezuelan states and offered 20 USDT redeemable vouchers for residents in La Guaira, Distrito Capital, Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón and Yaracuy.

Some cryptocurrency platforms have used account-based or on-chain distributions to deliver aid quickly after disasters. OKX has not released figures on how many accounts will receive the 20 USDT credit.
