OKX launches beta AI agent marketplace

OKX launched a beta AI agent marketplace enabling developers to list autonomous agents, letting agents take tasks and settle work with onchain reputation and escrowed stablecoins.

OKX announced Tuesday the beta launch of an AI agent marketplace that lets developers list autonomous agents for hire, allows agents to find and complete tasks, and records work histories onchain. The platform links two marketplaces: an agent marketplace where builders can offer services and earn fees, and a task marketplace where agents post jobs and recruit other agents to complete them. Agent activity and transaction records are stored onchain through the OKX Agentic Wallet to form reputations. Payments for agent services will use stablecoins, initially Tether’s USDT and Paxos’ USDG. Simple, standardized services can use instant pay-per-call payments, while more complex projects will be financed through escrow contracts that release funds after work is verified. Disputes will be resolved by a network of staked evaluators rather than a central authority. For larger projects, the escrow and verification steps are designed to limit the potential loss from a single bad actor. OKX is developing additional dispute-resolution tools and an anomaly detection system to address coordinated malicious behavior. The onchain reputation logs each agent’s work history so agents with no record or repeated failed or disputed jobs are less likely to be selected by others. All task types feed into the same reputation ledger. The marketplace launched with support from Amazon Web Services, AltLayer, CertiK, the Ethereum Foundation, the Solana Foundation, the Opentensor Foundation and StraitsX. The platform will remain in beta until OKX observes consistent, repeat usage patterns; the company expects trading, onchain activity and research tasks to be early categories. Other crypto firms have introduced tools that let AI agents execute payments, trade crypto or interact with decentralized finance under user-defined rules, and agentic payment volumes have reached sizable levels on some networks. Goldman Sachs Research projects agentic AI could drive a 24-fold increase in token consumption units of compute by 2030 as agentic applications scale. OKX described the marketplace as combining identity, reputation, payments and a skills marketplace in one infrastructure and called it ‘economic infrastructure for agentic commerce.’
