Nuvion Integrates Ripple’s RLUSD into Payments API
Nuvion integrated Ripple’s RLUSD on July 6 to power cross-border settlement, treasury and liquidity management via its single API, announced days after Ripple won full MiCA authorization.
Nuvion integrated Ripple’s RLUSD on July 6 to enable cross-border settlement, treasury functions and liquidity management through a single application programming interface. The integration brings RLUSD payment flows onto the XRP Ledger for Nuvion’s business and fintech clients.
The announcement came days after Ripple received full Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) authorization in Luxembourg, a license that provides regulated access across the 30 countries of the European Economic Area.
Nuvion said the RLUSD integration will allow faster settlement and embedded blockchain payments across multiple markets using one API. The platform supports multi-currency accounts, global payment rails and compliance tools; RLUSD is presented as a fiat-pegged token for real-time, programmable transfers and liquidity operations.
Keisha Clark, managing director of Nuvion, commented: “We believe the future of money movement will be increasingly real-time, programmable, and global. Integrating RLUSD expands the infrastructure available to businesses operating internationally, helping them access faster settlement, greater flexibility, and modern financial capabilities through a single platform.” Lauren Berta, a Ripple product lead, noted: “Stablecoins are central to demand for quicker, more transparent cross-border payments. RLUSD is built to bring the efficiency of blockchain to global payments, giving enterprises and fintechs a practical, compliant way to move value around the world.”
RLUSD was launched by Ripple in December 2024. Data from XRP treasury firm Evernorth shows RLUSD supply on the XRP Ledger rose from about $20 million at the end of 2024 to roughly $800 million by June 2026. The ledger now holds about 51% of the token’s total supply, up from roughly 17% in April 2026.
Monthly RLUSD-related transactions increased from about 54,000 in December 2024 to between 600,000 and 1.1 million per month in 2026, and the stablecoin’s share of trading activity on the ledger grew from under 1% to around 12%, according to Evernorth.
The Nuvion deal followed a series of distribution developments for RLUSD: the token went live in Japan in late June, and several platforms have added RLUSD as institutions seek regulated alternatives to established stablecoins. The integration extends RLUSD’s availability to corporate payment flows through Nuvion’s API.
Every RLUSD transfer, swap and trade on the XRP Ledger consumes XRP for transaction fees and settlement. Evernorth and other analysts tracking ledger activity have argued that rising stablecoin volume increases transactional demand for XRP and strengthens its role as the ledger’s settlement asset.
On markets, XRP has traded near the $1 level during the broader market downturn. Some market participants cite the expansion of RLUSD availability and Ripple’s growing regulatory footprint as factors that could affect demand for the token.
