Myriad launches $100K World Cup trading contest
Myriad launched a $100,000 trading contest for the 2026 FIFA World Cup using Chainlink oracles and 55 Tech real-time data to settle markets on D.Energy.
Prediction market Myriad launched a $100,000 trading contest tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The competition runs during the tournament and offers cash prizes to top traders and market makers.
The World Cup opens June 11 with South Africa facing hosts Mexico. Myriad said the contest covers every match, and the platform listed more than 75 multi-binary markets at launch, allowing users to bet on individual match outcomes.
The prize pool awards $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 to the top three traders. An additional $10,000 will be split among the wider leaderboard through the end of the contest. Market makers can earn from a weekly $5,000 pool in maker volume rewards; that leaderboard resets each week for the contest’s duration.
Chainlink oracles will resolve market outcomes, and 55 Tech will provide the real-time sports data that feeds market pricing and updates. Myriad is hosting and settling markets on the Layer-1 blockchain D.Energy.
Myriad closed a seed funding round earlier this year with participation from MoonPay, Walrus and Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee. The company is owned by Dastan, the parent company of Decrypt.
Myriad co-founder and president Farokh Sarmad said, “We’re thrilled to be running this contest during the World Cup. With billions of viewers tuning in to the tournament from around the world, this is a great opportunity to showcase how prediction markets work around sports tournaments on a global stage.”
Myriad CEO Loxley Fernandes noted the recent funding will allow the company to invest aggressively in product development, liquidity and market expansion.
At launch Myriad users assigned roughly a 13% chance to South Africa in the opening match against Mexico. FIFA reported about 1.5 billion viewers watched the last World Cup final, a figure Myriad cites to describe the scale of the event. Participants can join the contest through Myriad’s platform to place predictions on World Cup matches.
