Lubin-Linked Wallet Moves 80,001 ETH After Nearly 3 Years
A wallet linked to Joseph Lubin transferred 80,001 ETH (about $121.6 million) on June 6 after nearly three years of inactivity as ether traded near $1,520.
On June 6 a wallet linked to Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin transferred 80,001 ETH, about $121.6 million, after almost 36 months with no outgoing transactions. Ether was trading near $1,520 at the time.
The sending address still holds about 243,300 ETH, roughly $370 million at current prices. The 80,001 ETH moved represents about one-third of that remaining balance.
Joseph Lubin co-founded Ethereum, runs ConsenSys, the developer of the MetaMask wallet, and chairs Sharplink. Industry estimates have placed his personal ETH holdings in the hundreds of thousands of coins.
Large transfers from long-dormant addresses can reflect custody changes, staking operations, or over-the-counter sales. Market participants watch whether funds are sent to exchange deposit addresses, which is often associated with selling.
Ether has fallen about 47% so far in 2026 and lost roughly 32% through May; the June 6 transfer occurred during that decline.
The crypto fear and greed index registered 12 at the time, a reading classified as extreme fear.
Observers are tracking further on-chain activity from the address to see whether the funds are repositioned, moved into staking, transferred to custodians, or sent to exchanges.
