IG adds 50+ cryptocurrencies in UK, launches crypto swaps
IG added more than 50 cryptocurrencies to its UK platform after FCA registration, taking its token list above 100 and introducing crypto-to-crypto swaps, upgraded charts and wallet transfers.
IG expanded its UK cryptocurrency offering on May 13, adding more than 50 digital assets and bringing its total available tokens to over 100. The London-based platform said the rollout follows its Financial Conduct Authority cryptoasset registration in October 2025.
The update introduces direct crypto-to-crypto swaps that let customers exchange one digital asset for another without converting to fiat. Before the change, UK clients could only buy cryptocurrencies using fiat currency.
IG also deployed upgraded charting tools, including line and candlestick displays, common technical indicators and annotation features to support market analysis within the platform.
The firm plans to enable wallet transfers in the coming weeks so customers can move holdings in and out of their IG accounts. Transferred assets will be held alongside other positions and products on the same account, such as contracts for difference and spread bets, subject to IG’s onboarding and custody arrangements.
IG did not publish a list of the new tokens or give a firm date for the wallet transfer launch. In a statement, the company noted: “After securing its FCA cryptoasset registration in October 2025, IG has added more than 50 cryptocurrencies to its offering, increasing the total number available to more than 100.”
Mat Perkins, IG’s product director, described the additions as part of the company’s effort to build a “more complete and trusted crypto investing experience” for UK clients and highlighted the platform’s upgraded trading and portfolio tools.
