HashKey merges regional exchanges into single trading app

HashKey combined HashKey Exchange and HashKey Global into one platform and app, consolidating hubs in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Bermuda under a ‘unified entry, localized compliance’ model.

HashKey, the Hong Kong digital asset services firm, announced on Monday that it has merged HashKey Exchange and HashKey Global into a single trading platform and mobile application. Core jurisdictional hubs in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Bermuda will be served through the same front-end application.

The announcement said all users will download and open the same app and see the same interface. The platform will route customers from Hong Kong, Global, Singapore and Middle East regions into the single application while applying rules that match each user’s legal jurisdiction.

HashKey framed the approach with the phrase ‘unified entry, localized compliance.’ The company said the system enforces jurisdiction-specific controls on the back end so that local management teams can meet licensing and oversight requirements for their markets.

Under the configuration, customer access is consolidated into one front-end experience while compliance duties remain tied to local legal frameworks. HashKey described the setup as a change from earlier industry practice in which exchanges operated separate, region-specific platforms.

The consolidation follows a broader industry pattern of using a single website or app for users while keeping distinct legal entities for different jurisdictions. Kraken, for example, acquired Dutch broker BCM in September 2024 and later integrated it into its main platform; the firm now serves customers in the European Economic Area through an Irish entity under MiCA rules.

HashKey did not provide a detailed timetable for the technical migration, any reassignment of customer accounts, or changes to terms of service in its initial announcement. The company indicated local teams will continue to manage compliance obligations in their respective jurisdictions and that the legal status of customer accounts will not change during the transition.
