GBTC Drives $227M Weekly Outflow as HYPE Gains $28M

Grayscale’s GBTC led $226.8M in outflows from U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs for the week ending June 19; HYPE ETFs attracted $27.9M in inflows.

U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs posted $226.8 million in net outflows for the week ending June 19, a sixth straight week of withdrawals for the category. The trading week was shortened by the Juneteenth holiday.

Grayscale’s GBTC accounted for $156.3 million of the weekly redemptions. Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB registered $50.1 million in outflows and BlackRock’s IBIT gave up $44.7 million. Smaller outflows came from Vaneck’s HODL ($14.6 million), Invesco’s BTCO ($6.4 million) and Franklin’s EZBC ($5.8 million). Offsetting inflows included Morgan Stanley’s MSBT (+$25.8 million), Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust (+$15 million) and Fidelity’s FBTC (+$9.6 million).

Galaxy Research reported that U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $6.35 billion in net outflows over the past 30 days, the largest rolling 30-day withdrawal on record across the firm’s tracked windows.

Ether spot ETFs finished the week with roughly $10 million in net outflows. Early-week inflows were largely reversed by redemptions later in the shortened week.

Altcoin-focused ETFs saw inflows. The HYPE group attracted $27.9 million, bringing cumulative net inflows for spot HYPE ETFs to about $153 million since their launch and nearly $900 million in total trading volume. The three live HYPE products — 21Shares’ THYP, Bitwise’s BHYP and Grayscale’s HYPG — hold HYPE tokens directly and pass staking rewards to investors. Approximately 434 million HYPE tokens, about 45% of the stakeable supply, are currently staked.

XRP-based ETFs added $10.7 million and Solana ETFs took in $7.1 million for the week.

Flows for the week show bitcoin funds with net withdrawals, ether funds with small net outflows and targeted altcoin products drawing net inflows.
