Coinbase’s Armstrong: Bitcoin likely higher by 2030
Brian Armstrong wrote he remains long bitcoin, called it “the new digital gold” and suggested the cycle may have bottomed near $60,000.
Coinbase Global CEO Brian Armstrong wrote in a June 14 post on X that he remains long bitcoin and expects substantially higher prices by 2030. The post included a short video in which he described bitcoin as “the new digital gold” and suggested the current cycle may have bottomed near $60,000.
Armstrong tied his outlook to long-term economic adoption rather than short-term trading. He referenced bitcoin’s recurring four-year cycles and pointed to an indicator some investors use: the percentage of holders in profit versus loss. In the post he wrote, “my instinct is we probably have bottomed at this point,” and identified about $60,000 as a possible low for this cycle.
He said short-term volatility does not change his position. In the post he wrote, “I’m as bullish as ever on bitcoin, and still long (as always). It’s never as good or bad as it seems,” and later added, “I’m optimistic as always. I think by 2030 we’re going to have a much higher, higher price, and I’m long bitcoin, just like always.”
Armstrong linked the price outlook to bitcoin’s potential role in wider financial systems, saying he expects the asset to become an important part of the economy over time. He also highlighted stablecoins, calling them “the best form of money” and describing Coinbase as “extremely bullish on stablecoin growth.”
Coinbase has been promoting an “Everything Exchange” concept designed to let customers hold crypto, stocks, ETFs and cash in a single account as the company looks to expand beyond cryptocurrency trading.
Bitcoin has historically moved in multi-year cycles with periods of rapid gains followed by corrections. Armstrong’s post reiterated that he holds bitcoin personally and expects higher prices by 2030.
