Circle, BIND to Offer Institutional USDC Access in Argentina
Circle and Argentina’s BIND Group will give companies regulated access to USDC via BIND’s licensed BEN VASP for payments, treasury and digital transfers.
Circle announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Argentina’s BIND Group to provide businesses regulated access to USDC, the dollar-pegged stablecoin. The offering will use BIND’s BEN virtual asset service provider to support payments, corporate treasury operations and digital asset transfers.
BEN will operate as a licensed and regulated VASP under Argentina’s rules. BIND Group’s core banking unit, BIND Banco Industrial, sits inside a conglomerate with more than $2 billion in assets and will make BEN available to institutional clients as an on-ramp and infrastructure for USDC.
Under the agreement, companies in Argentina will be able to use USDC for treasury management, domestic and cross-border payments, and the movement of digital funds through the BEN network. The platform will allow conversions between pesos, dollars and USDC within BIND’s systems.
BIND and Circle said BEN will comply with national requirements for licensing, customer due diligence and transaction monitoring.
USDC has a market capitalization above $70 billion. In Argentina it represents roughly 46% of stablecoin transaction volume, reflecting strong local use of dollar-pegged digital assets.
Argentina’s financial regulator and central bank are reviewing proposals that could ease limits on banks offering crypto-related services. BIND’s integration of a licensed VASP is intended to let corporate clients operate under the current legal framework while the regulatory stance evolves.
Andrés Meta, vice president at BIND, said the bank aims to provide through BEN “transparent, secure, and efficient access to the digital dollar infrastructure.” Circle chief executive Jeremy Allaire, visiting Argentina, noted the country has become “a much more attractive destination for foreign investment” than it was two years ago.
Neither company disclosed a launch date for the service.
