Byte Federal Integrates With BurraPay for U.S. Casino Crypto
Byte Federal integrated payment and exchange services with BurraPay to enable Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin wagers at Circa, which processed Nevada’s first legal crypto sports bet on June 4.
Byte Federal integrated its payment and exchange services with BurraPay to enable regulated cryptocurrency transactions inside licensed U.S. casinos and sportsbooks. The integration supported BurraPay’s launch at Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, where a patron placed Nevada’s first legal crypto-funded sports wager on June 4.
Under the integration, wagers can be funded with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin and routed through Byte Federal’s exchange and payment infrastructure into Circa’s sportsbook systems. BurraPay, founded in 2015 and focused on regulated gaming markets, received approval to operate in five U.S. gaming states. Circa is the company’s first U.S. client.
BurraPay stated its platform was built to provide regulators visibility into how digital-asset deposits are handled. Luke Millanta, BurraPay’s CTO and co-founder, praised the Nevada Gaming Control Board and commented: “Nevada has set a blueprint. Our focus now is to continue working directly with regulators in other jurisdictions to replicate that — giving them full visibility into our compliance framework and the proven infrastructure we’ve deployed with Byte Federal.”
Byte Federal, established in 2016 and based in Venice, Florida, supplies an exchange layer and payment gateway for in-venue crypto use. The company operates a Bitcoin ATM network across more than 40 states and offers a non-custodial wallet, a custodial wallet and an API-based payment gateway that supports online, in-app and in-store acceptance. Paul Tarantino, Byte Federal’s CEO, described the integration as the result of years of engineering to enable compliant, in-person use of digital assets.
Company statements cited industry data that about 28% of U.S. adults own cryptocurrency and that nearly half of global crypto holders use digital assets for gambling. Both firms noted sizable wagering volume has flowed to offshore operators outside consumer protections and tax systems, and BurraPay’s product is designed to route those deposits into licensed operators while meeting gaming regulator requirements.
BurraPay processed the first compliant crypto-funded sports bet at Circa on June 4. The companies stated the integration will be rolled out as BurraPay signs additional operators and secures state-by-state approvals. They did not disclose commercial terms or identify other operators with tentative agreements. Regulatory approvals will be required before the service appears at additional locations.
