Bitwise Lists BWCC ETP for Canton’s CC Token on Xetra
Bitwise launched BWCC, an ETP on Deutsche Börse Xetra that tracks Canton Network’s CC token, charging a 0.85% annual fee and backed by cold‑stored tokens.
Bitwise Asset Management has launched BWCC, an exchange-traded product on Deutsche Börse Xetra that tracks Canton Network’s CC token. The ETP trades under the ticker BWCC and carries an annual expense ratio of 0.85%.
The product is fully backed by CC tokens held in cold storage and can be bought and sold through standard brokerage accounts. Investors do not need to manage crypto wallets or arrange separate custody.
Canton Network was developed by Digital Asset and went live in 2023. The network is designed for banks and capital markets and limits data visibility so participants see only the transaction information relevant to them to meet confidentiality and compliance requirements. Canton supports interoperability and programmable workflows for issuance, trading and settlement of tokenized financial instruments.
The platform lists participation from financial and technology firms including Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Börse, Broadridge, Microsoft, Moody’s, S&P Global, Deloitte and Cboe Global Markets.
Within Canton, the CC token supports governance and operational functions. Its value is tied to adoption by institutions using the network.
Bitwise said the ETP reflects investor demand for regulated exposure to the infrastructure that supports tokenization and blockchain-based settlement systems.
Bradley Duke, managing director and head of Europe at Bitwise, described Canton as ‘a blockchain platform built from the ground up for global financial markets’ and highlighted its privacy, interoperability and programmability for institutional use cases.
Europe has a growing market for regulated crypto investment products, with issuers offering instruments tied to specialized blockchain networks as well as to bitcoin and ether. BWCC provides a brokerage-tradable vehicle for regulated exposure to a blockchain aimed at institutional finance.
