Bitdeer stock jumps 14% after $36M Nevada miner plant
Bitdeer rose 14.1% to $14.33 after announcing a $36 million Sparks, Nevada factory to assemble SEALMINER Bitcoin miners, with commercial production expected by year-end.
Bitdeer Technologies Group announced a $36 million manufacturing facility in Sparks, Nevada to assemble its SEALMINER line of Bitcoin mining machines. The stock rose 14.1% to $14.33 on the news, recovering losses from earlier in the week. The share price remains about 27% below its June high and roughly 26% higher year-to-date.
The plant will produce key mining hardware components and perform final assembly, increasing U.S. production capacity and reducing reliance on third-party suppliers. Bitdeer has set a target for commercial production by the end of the year. Manufacturing will focus on the SEALMINER family rather than server or artificial intelligence equipment.
Bitdeer CEO Catherine Guo told local media that the company worked with Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo’s administration and local authorities to secure tax incentives, including a reduction in qualifying sales taxes. “We worked with Nevada’s administration and local authorities to secure tax incentives, including a reduction in qualifying sales taxes,” Guo told local media.
The announcement comes as several publicly traded Bitcoin miners expand into artificial intelligence and high-performance computing by using access to low-cost power and data-center space. MARA Holdings is pursuing a Texas site with up to 2 gigawatts of capacity, and TeraWulf signed a 20-year data center lease with Anthropic.
In its most recent production update, Bitdeer reported mining 921 BTC in May, a 370% increase from May a year earlier.
The Sparks facility will serve Bitdeer’s U.S. operations and customers. Bitdeer expects the site to shorten supply chains and increase domestic production ahead of commercialization.
