Binance Lists USDT Options on Gold and Silver in ADGM
Binance will list USDT-settled gold and silver options on its ADGM-regulated Nest Exchange; retail users can buy contracts while eligible institutions and liquidity providers can write them.
Binance will list USDT-settled options on gold and silver through Nest Exchange Limited, its Abu Dhabi Global Market-regulated Recognized Investment Exchange. The contracts will settle in Tether’s USDT stablecoin and do not require delivery of physical metal.
Retail customers on Nest Exchange will be allowed only to buy option contracts. Eligible institutional participants and designated liquidity providers will have the additional ability to write options, collecting premiums and taking on the corresponding risk. Binance said limiting retail activity to purchases caps potential losses for those customers to the premium paid.
Nest Exchange Limited operates under ADGM oversight in Abu Dhabi. The options listing follows the exchange’s January launch of gold and silver perpetual futures and expands the commodity-linked derivatives available on the ADGM-regulated venue.
The new listings provide exposure to gold and silver price moves without ownership of bullion. Options contracts will use familiar derivative mechanics-premiums, strikes and settlement-while final value will be paid in USDT rather than in physical metal or fiat currency.
The listing arrives as other firms offer tokenized bullion. Tether’s XAUt, a token representing one troy ounce of gold held in Swiss vaults, recently received Shariah certification and was recognized by ADGM as an accepted spot commodity. Data from RWA.xyz shows the tokenized commodities sector has about $4.56 billion in distributed value, with Tether Gold and Paxos Gold representing more than 90% of that total.
The exchange’s participation rules distinguish retail and institutional risk profiles, allowing retail users to take limited exposure through option purchases while enabling qualified institutions and liquidity providers to supply liquidity by writing contracts.
