Binance App Vanishes From Google Play in Some EU States

The Binance mobile app has disappeared from the Google Play Store in several European Union countries, with the change first noticed late last week. A user in Spain reported the app no longer appears in Play search results, while it remains visible in other markets and on alternative Android app stores.

Checks show the app is still listed on Google Play in some member states, including Poland, and continues to be available through Oppo’s App Market used on some Android devices. App availability therefore differs by country and by alternative app stores.

Industry sources have linked the Play Store removals to questions about compliance with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. The development follows Binance’s withdrawal of a MiCA application in Greece earlier this month, which came shortly before MiCA’s transitional period ended on July 1.

After that withdrawal, the company informed some EU users that access to certain services would be restricted while allowing withdrawals to continue.

Binance did not respond to requests for comment by publishing time, and Google has not offered a public explanation for why the listings disappeared in the affected countries.

MiCA is the EU’s regulatory framework for crypto-asset service providers. It sets licensing requirements and consumer protections across member states and included a transitional period intended to give platforms time to secure authorisations. Firms that did not obtain licences before the deadline face increased scrutiny from national regulators and potential restrictions in some jurisdictions.

Because the app remains available in some member states and on non-Google app stores, the impact appears uneven rather than a full exit from the EU market. Users in countries where the app is still listed can download or update it via Google Play. Those in affected countries may need to access Binance services through web browsers or alternative marketplaces on Android devices, while avoiding installations from unverified third-party sources.

App availability could change as companies and regulators respond. Affected users should watch official communications from their service providers and check legitimate alternative download options tied to device manufacturers or the providers themselves.
