Better Token Bureau aims to curb fake reviews in Web3

David Track, founder of Sosana, launched the Better Token Bureau to build decentralized consumer protection for Web3. The platform converts verified user contributions into portable reputation intended to limit fake reviews and increase accountability for token projects.
Track, who previously founded MLMSocial.com, says blockchain’s “Don’t trust, verify” ethos removed traditional intermediaries but left a need for structured trust systems. He notes anyone can create and market a token in minutes, which he says makes centralized review models unsuitable for many digital assets.
The Better Token Bureau organizes reputation data around four core pillars: dispute resolution, responsiveness, historical conduct and a separation between routine ratings and formal complaints. The platform prioritizes dispute handling and a subject’s track record over raw activity or popularity.
To reduce manipulation, the bureau introduces incentives and friction designed to make large-scale abuse costly and visible. Track warned, “A major weakness in traditional crowdsourced reputation systems is that identity, accountability, and consequences are often disconnected,” and pointed to Sybil attacks, bot farms and paid shills as common threats in Web3.
The system converts consistent, high-quality contributions into persistent digital capital. Track wrote, “If someone consistently contributes useful, accurate, and well-reasoned information, that history should matter.” Accumulated reputation is intended to be portable so trusted identities can be used across decentralized applications, token discovery platforms and other blockchain services.
The initiative includes Sosana School, an onboarding network that offers educational resources, guided community support and instructor-led training. The school aims to help retail users evaluate projects, assess smart contract and wallet risks, and reduce reliance on hype and influencer endorsements.
The bureau’s architecture emphasizes transparency and auditable records rather than closed-door moderation. The system tracks structural behavior over time to give long-term contributors measurable benefits and to limit the influence of short-term, emotionally driven posts.
Track positions the Better Token Bureau as infrastructure that can be integrated across blockchain ecosystems to provide consistent, verifiable reputation signals. The platform is described as a protocol for portable reputation that projects and discovery services can use without concentrating control in a single centralized service.
