Anvil Lets Sponsors Reserve Futurist Spots With Onchain LOCs
Anvil and Blockchain Futurist will let sponsors reserve exhibition and speaking slots by pledging digital assets to onchain Letters of Credit, no upfront cash needed.
A press release dated June 18, 2026, in Toronto says Anvil has partnered with the Blockchain Futurist Conference to allow sponsors to reserve exhibition and speaking slots by pledging digital assets to onchain Letters of Credit (LOCs). Sponsors do not have to make an upfront cash payment.
Under an LOC, a sponsor posts a digital-asset-backed credit on the Ethereum blockchain that records a financial promise. The pledged assets remain in the sponsor’s custody and can continue to earn yield until the payment obligation is met. Organizers receive a verifiable onchain record of the commitment.
Conference founder Tracy Leparulo said, “Anvil LOCs enable us to streamline our operations, not have to worry if we are going to get paid, and allow us to focus solely on putting on the best conference possible.”
Anvil is a decentralized finance protocol on Ethereum that focuses on collateral management and secured credit. Governance is organized around the ANVL token. The protocol’s initial design work was done at the Acronym Foundation; Anvil Research Labs now continues development and expansion of the project.
Maximillian Schwartz, chief executive of Anvil Research Labs, is scheduled to speak on Futurist’s Main Stage on Day 1 at 2:00 PM local time. He will address how decentralized finance models are changing products such as Buy Now, Pay Later and what those changes mean for business financial commitments. Schwartz commented that he looks forward to sharing updates on Anvil’s approach to issues in traditional finance.
Organizers and Anvil noted ties between the city of Toronto and the project’s origins, and said the location is relevant to the collaboration. The press release lists Margaux Stancil as the media contact at [email protected].
