a16z-Linked Wallet Buys $90.9M in HYPE Ahead of 55% Target
A wallet Lookonchain links to a16z acquired 2.11 million HYPE-about $90.87 million since April 14-while HYPE forms a cup-and-handle with a $45-$47 neckline and a $71-$72 target.
On-chain trackers reported that wallet 0xb5E4, described by Lookonchain as linked to Andreessen Horowitz, accumulated about 2.11 million HYPE, valued at roughly $90.87 million, since April 14. Arkham Intelligence timestamps show that on Monday the wallet purchased 372,000 HYPE, worth about $16.91 million, over a three-hour period.
Price charts show HYPE forming a cup-and-handle pattern. The cup developed after a decline from roughly $46 to near $21 and a rounded recovery back toward the $45-$47 resistance band, which now serves as the neckline. The token has entered a handle phase of modest downward consolidation.
Traders estimate an upside target by measuring the cup’s depth and adding that distance to the neckline. Using that method produces a $71-$72 target, about 55% above current levels; some analysts say that outcome could occur in 2026 if HYPE breaks above $45-$47.
Market data showed HYPE rising about 7% over 24 hours while Bitcoin and Ether fell 1.22% and 2.22%, respectively. Year-to-date HYPE is up about 80% while Bitcoin and Ether are down roughly 12.5% and 28.3%.
Market participants cited recent US spot HYPE ETF launches as opening regulated access for traditional investors and pointed to Coinbase and Circle’s roles in USDC deployments as strengthening Hyperliquid’s stablecoin infrastructure. Trader Pentoshi wrote on X that Hyperliquid’s revenue could “grow 5x-10x” if a US regulatory framework such as the CLARITY Act allows hedge funds, proprietary trading desks and asset managers to trade on the platform.
Transaction data referenced Arkham Intelligence for purchase timestamps and quantities, and Lookonchain identified links between the wallet and the venture firm. On-chain accumulation by a venture-linked wallet occurred while the token tested the $45-$47 resistance zone.
