XRP technicals point to potential rally to $2.05

XRP rose 9% to $1.50 over the weekend as Binance funding rates, a narrow Bollinger Bands squeeze and a symmetrical triangle breakout set a technical target near $2.05.

XRP rose 9% to $1.50 over the weekend as several technical and on‑chain indicators suggested a run to about $2.05.

TradingView data shows XRP remains roughly 60% below its July 2025 multi‑year high of $3.66 and about 21% below this year’s opening price of $1.83. The weekend gain followed a period of consolidation that began in February.

CryptoQuant data analyzed by analyst Darkfost showed the 30‑day sum of Binance funding rates had a bearish bias for nearly three months even as XRP gained about 27% over the same period. Darkfost wrote, “When such a strong consensus forms, especially after a correction exceeding 60%, it is often a sign that a potential reversal may be developing.”

Darkfost cited an April 2025 episode in which negative funding rates recovered before a sustained rally, noting an April rebound to roughly $1.25 preceded a multi‑week advance.

Volatility measures tightened as two‑day Bollinger Bands reached their narrowest level in about 10 months. Analyst Seth observed the “tightest Bollinger Band squeeze in years” on the daily chart and referenced past instances, including a July 2025 break above the upper band that coincided with a rise to $3.66.

On the daily chart, XRP broke above a symmetrical triangle that had compressed price between converging trend lines since February. The triangle’s upper boundary now sits near $1.40 and could act as support; a daily close above that zone would align with the pattern’s measured target near $2.05.

The moving average convergence divergence indicator is trading above zero and has produced a bullish cross, showing rising buying momentum by that metric.

Analyst CW8900 wrote that a “full‑scale rise for $XRP is imminent” after the price bounced from a multi‑year support line on the three‑day chart.

Traders identify a seller congestion zone between $1.40 and $1.61 that would need to be cleared and sustained to indicate a longer lasting trend change. Funding rates that flip rapidly and tight Bollinger Bands can produce swift directional moves in either direction.
