Worldcoin falls 13% as iris ID expands to Zoom, DocuSign

Worldcoin slid about 13% to $0.28 after World, led by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, announced its iris-scanning World ID will integrate with Zoom and DocuSign.

Worldcoin’s native token WLD fell about 13.4% to roughly $0.28 on Friday after World, the identity company led by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, announced new integrations for its iris-scanning World ID.

The company announced Zoom will use its Deep Face authentication to detect deepfakes on video calls and DocuSign will add World ID checks to digital agreements. Tinder plans to expand World ID verification for users in the U.S.

World listed recent integrations with Amazon Web Services, Shopify, Browserbase, Exa, VanEck and Coinbase. Coinbase plans to use World’s AgentKit developer tools to link AI agents to verified human identities for its x402 micropayments protocol.

The price drop in WLD occurred while the broader cryptocurrency market rose about 2.2% on Friday after reports that the U.S. and Iran eased tensions and reopened the Strait of Hormuz.

WLD is the native token of the World Network. It is used to reward people who verify a unique identity and to enable transactions and participation within the network.

World’s ID technology primarily relies on the Orb device, which scans a user’s iris to generate a unique digital identity. The company says the system can verify a person without revealing underlying biometric data.

World also introduced an account-based system with features such as key recovery and multi-device support to make verification more portable and to ease access across services.

Privacy advocates and some security researchers warned that collecting biometric data at scale creates privacy risks, could enable surveillance if misused, and makes large databases attractive targets for hackers.

The company did not provide immediate details on how World ID data for the new integrations will be stored, how long data will be retained, or which jurisdictions will be covered first. World previously stated its system confirms uniqueness without exposing raw biometric data, but technical and legal safeguards vary by integration and region.
