UAE to Operate Half of Government on Agentic AI in Two Years
UAE will run 50% of federal sectors, services and operations on agentic AI within two years; federal staff will be trained and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed will oversee implementation.
Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Thursday that the United Arab Emirates plans to operate half of its government sectors, services and operations using agentic artificial intelligence within two years. The initiative follows directives from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and will be overseen by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed.
Al Maktoum described agentic AI as systems that analyze, decide, execute and improve in real time, calling the technology an “executive partner” intended to speed decisions, improve service delivery and raise efficiency.
The government set a two-year deadline and will assess progress by measuring adoption speed, implementation quality and how well AI is integrated into redesigned workflows. Authorities plan to continuously monitor adoption rates and implementation outcomes.
All federal employees will receive training to “master AI” so they can work alongside and supervise AI-driven processes, according to officials. Sheikh Mansour has been assigned to coordinate the nationwide rollout.
The announcement expands an April 2025 program in which Al Maktoum introduced an AI-based legislative system that uses AI agents to draft laws, monitor effects using data analysis and propose amendments.
Officials did not publish a list of priority sectors or a detailed training curriculum. The plan calls for rapid adoption across federal agencies but offers limited operational detail at this stage.
Al Maktoum wrote on social media: “The world is changing. Technology is accelerating. Our principle remains constant. People come first.”
