Solana Eyes $135 After Fiserv Stablecoin Platform Launches

Fiserv’s digital asset platform has launched with Roughrider Coin, a dollar-backed stablecoin using Solana. SOL is near $121.91, with $135 in view above $125.

Fiserv’s digital asset platform went live on Oct. 1 with Roughrider Coin, a dollar-backed stablecoin issued by VersaBank for the Bank of North Dakota. Fireblocks provided the infrastructure, while Solana processes the transactions.

More than 90 North Dakota banks and credit unions can use Roughrider Coin for bank-to-bank transfers through Fiserv’s Commercial Center online banking system. In a company statement, Fiserv executive Sunil Sachdev described the launch as a shift “from concept to production.” Fiserv identified Roughrider Coin as the platform’s first use case.

Fiserv did not disclose transaction volumes. Its announcement did not link the stablecoin’s use to demand for SOL.

SOL traded near $121.91, close to the middle of a rising price channel that began after a mid-August breakout. The late-September high near $125 has limited recent gains. A daily close above $125 could put the channel’s upper boundary near $135 in view. The upper boundary is projected to reach about $145 by mid-October.

The 20-day exponential moving average is at $114.43, followed by support near $108 at the channel’s lower boundary. The 50-day EMA is at $104.40. A close below that level could expose the 100-day EMA at $95.87 and the 200-day EMA at $95.60. SOL’s relative strength index was 65.99, below the 70 level commonly associated with overbought conditions.

U.S. spot Solana exchange-traded funds recorded $188.22 million in net inflows in the week ended Sept. 25, marking 13 consecutive weeks of inflows, according to SoSoValue data. The streak added about $475.77 million, lifting cumulative net inflows to $1.61 billion and total net assets to $1.91 billion.

The latest daily data showed a $5.91 million net outflow. Bitwise’s BSOL recorded $6.51 million in outflows, while Canary’s SOLC had $4.78 million in outflows. Grayscale’s GSOL received $5.38 million. The current week had recorded $1.13 million in net inflows before the latest daily figures.

Spot trading in tokenized stocks on Solana reached $4.35 billion in September, according to the Tokens on Solana account on X. The monthly volume was 3.4 times August’s figure and 24% above the previous monthly record.

SOL gained 14.6% in September 2026 after rising 41.4% in August. Since 2020, the token has finished October higher in three of six completed years. October returns ranged from a 46.7% decline in 2020 to an 80.1% gain in 2023. SOL gained 10.6% in October 2024 and fell 10.3% in October 2025.
