Pump.fun offers crypto for tattoos and risky stunts
Pump.fun launched an open Solana-based bounty board that pays crypto for promotional tasks, including tattooing token tickers, quitting jobs on live video and skydiving in a mascot.
Pump.fun, a Solana-based memecoin launchpad, introduced an open bounty marketplace on Thursday that offers crypto payments for promotional tasks.
Anyone can post a paid “bounty” with specific deliverables and an expiration date. Participants submit proof and Pump.fun reviews entries before releasing funds held in escrow.
At publication time the platform displayed about $115,000 in unclaimed rewards across 225 live bounties and 509 total submissions.
Listings include high-value and contentious tasks. One offered about $57,000 for a person to skydive into a World Cup match while wearing a memecoin mascot. Another listed about $25,000 for an interview with the family of Henry Nowak’s killer. Other offers included roughly $3,000 to quit a job live on camera, $3,572 to spray-paint a token ticker on a car and set it alight while filmed, and $2,630 to tattoo a token ticker on a forehead. The tattoo task had several submissions and multiple completed tattoos.
Users can sort bounties by highest reward, time remaining or number of submissions. Pump.fun’s terms state that bounties that “may be deemed as spam by X” are not allowed. The platform requires specific proof of fulfillment before releasing payments from escrow.
Some commenters raised safety and ethical concerns. One social media user wrote: “This is a horrible market. It’s like playing with poor people’s lives and paying them to entertain you.” Another commenter wrote: “Yep, reminds me of Squid Game.”
The marketplace has attracted listings that use crypto payments to fund promotional stunts and has prompted public discussion about moderation, participant safety and potential legal exposure for bounty posters and the platform.
