Polymarket Pauses International Trading After Third-Party Breach

Polymarket has halted new trading on its international platform after a third-party provider was breached and is investigating reported unauthorized withdrawals.

Polymarket paused new trading on its international platform after a security breach at a third-party provider. The prediction market operator is investigating reports of unauthorized withdrawals and assessing whether user funds were affected.

In a statement on Oct. 29, the company said it had fixed the issue and would compensate users affected by the incident. It referred the matter to law enforcement and began work to restore normal operations.

Polymarket’s status page shows that users can cancel orders, while new trades remain blocked. The company has also paused relayer actions, which support transactions on the platform. The affected services include Predictions and the Predictions Trading API.

Polymarket has not identified the compromised provider, explained how the breach occurred or published an estimate of potential losses. It has not confirmed whether its user-facing website was compromised.

Jeremy, an X user, posted an image showing a message-signing request linked to Polymarket’s domain. The image displayed an unverified indicator and did not establish that a transaction had occurred.

Another X account, StarPlatinum, alleged that unauthorized withdrawals were made through Polymarket’s deposit-wallet infrastructure. The account claimed that a recipient wallet held $2.68 million by 18:05 UTC on Oct. 29 and had received 28.6 million POL from user deposit balances. StarPlatinum also said investigators had not officially confirmed a website breach.

The reported activity remains under investigation. Polymarket has not provided further details about the suspected withdrawals or the total amount involved.
