Polymarket: 20% Odds U.S. Confirms Alien Life in 2026

Polymarket traders assigned a 20% probability that the U.S. government will confirm alien life in 2026. Kalshi, another prediction market, shows an implied probability near 22.5%. Prices in both markets moved after public comments from former President Donald Trump and references to upcoming releases of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena files.

On May 4, Trump told supporters the Pentagon would release “a lot of things” and predicted some material “is going to be very interesting to people.” Traders adjusted positions following the remarks.

Three pastors reported that about six religious leaders met with intelligence officers to discuss how churches should respond if alien life is confirmed. Tony Merkel, an evangelist and podcaster who described the meeting, characterized some attendees as “Christians in intelligence operations” and said the initial aim was to gather evidence and data about activity within the disclosure community.

A former administration official told reporters that UAP files have been prepared for release. Government agencies have increased attention to UAP reporting in recent years, and references to planned file releases have influenced expectations in prediction markets.

UAP is the term U.S. agencies use for objects or effects that remain unidentified after initial analysis. Recent reports describe encounters by military personnel with objects showing flight characteristics that are not immediately explainable. Any additional file releases would provide documents or data that officials and analysts would review.

Former President Barack Obama expressed skepticism that the government is hiding proof of extraterrestrial life, adding that evidence of such a discovery would likely have leaked: “I promise you some guy guarding the installation would have taken a selfie with one of the aliens and sent it to his girlfriend to impress her.”

For now, prediction markets place a measurable, though not dominant, probability on an official confirmation in 2026, and some religious leaders have held meetings with intelligence officers to prepare for possible scenarios.
