President Donald Trump appointed Pam Bondi to the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology on May 27. PCAST is co-chaired by David Sacks and Michael Kratsios and includes technology leaders such as Jensen Huang, Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Ellison.
Bondi served as U.S. Attorney General from January to April 2026 before being removed by the president. She previously served eight years as Florida attorney general.
On the council Bondi will coordinate between the White House and the panel’s private-sector members and participate in discussions on artificial intelligence and emerging technology policy.
David Sacks previously served as the administration’s crypto and AI czar and has supported a framework-first, enforcement-light approach to digital asset regulation. Michael Kratsios serves as the administration’s science adviser.
At the Justice Department, Bondi oversaw technology-related enforcement, including cases involving digital asset fraud.
Congress is advancing stablecoin legislation and the CLARITY Act. Regulators are examining the intersection of AI and financial markets. Recommendations from PCAST could affect how the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission approach AI-driven crypto products, autonomous on-chain systems and other services that combine blockchain and machine learning.
Industry activity shows growing overlap between AI and blockchain, from AI-powered trading algorithms to decentralized compute networks used for model inference. With spot bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds approved, oversight questions about AI-augmented crypto products have moved into policy discussions.
The White House has listed AI and cryptocurrency among its economic priorities. Bondi will sit on a council that includes legal, technical and industry voices as federal agencies and lawmakers consider rules for digital and AI-driven services.
