Mining Grid launches COREs Evolution upgrade
Mining Grid launched COREs Evolution on the one-year anniversary of Mining COREs, adding Sprint and Block Races, auto-buy, bundles, integrated bonuses and a non-custodial wallet.
Mining Grid announced COREs Evolution, an upgrade to its Mining COREs racing model, on the product’s first anniversary. The company introduced new race formats, automated purchase options, bundled purchases, integrated bonus mechanics and an in-app non-custodial wallet. Mining Grid first released Mining COREs globally in April 2025.
COREs are digital units that represent 1 TH/s of mining capacity on the Mining Race platform. Users activate COREs inside the Mining Race app to enter recurring races and collect platform rewards. Each active CORE also carries mining power that generates mining rewards during its active period. Mining Grid reported more than 450,000 COREs have taken part in the program and the app has been downloaded over 125,000 times across more than 150 countries.
The upgrade adds two race formats. Sprint Races run for newly enrolled COREs over a week; the weekly winner unlocks the relevant Bitcoin block hash. Block Races run more frequently, are tied to newly mined Bitcoin blocks and are open to all active COREs. Mining Grid said the formats run alongside each other so COREs can compete in races while contributing mining power to the platform.
User-facing changes in COREs Evolution aim to simplify participation. Auto-buy functionality and bundle purchase options make acquiring COREs faster. Integrated bonus mechanics change how rewards and races are distributed over time. The company also revised portions of the reward and race structure to create a more consistent user experience.
Access to the Mining Race system requires a tiered subscription called Spot. Higher Spot tiers grant access to additional products such as Mining Cards and Mining Devices. The app includes a non-custodial wallet for managing funds and connects to mining pools in the background, so users do not need to operate hardware or perform technical setups themselves.
According to Rami Alsridi, CEO and founder of Mining Grid, “COREs Evolution is the result of listening closely to how our users participate in Mining Race and where they wanted the experience to improve. Our goal was to turn a familiar model into one that feels more complete, more thoughtful, and better suited to long-term participation.”
The Mining Race app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
