Kalshi Traders Put 80% Odds Bitcoin Stays Below $100K
Kalshi traders assign about an 80% probability Bitcoin stays below $100,000 through 2026, with more than $10 million wagered on CF Bitcoin Real‑Time Index timing contracts.
Prediction market Kalshi shows roughly an 80% probability that Bitcoin will remain below $100,000 through 2026, based on more than $10 million wagered across timing contracts tied to the CF Bitcoin Real‑Time Index.
In the Kalshi market asking ‘When will Bitcoin cross $100k again?’, ‘Yes’ contracts trade near $0.01 for a crossing before July 2026 (implying under 1% probability), near $0.11 for before October 2026 (about 11%), and about $0.22 for before Jan. 1, 2027 (about 19%–22%). The contract resolves immediately if the CF index crosses $100,000; if not, it settles as ‘No’ on Jan. 1, 2027.
Separate Kalshi contracts assign a 57% probability to Bitcoin falling below $50,000 before the end of 2026. Related markets place most probability on a 2026 year‑end price between $55,000 and $70,000.
Bitcoin traded near $64,600 on June 22, 2026, about 27% lower year‑to‑date and roughly 50% below an October 2025 high near $126,198. The price tested lows near $60,000 earlier in 2026.
Market participants point to several factors shaping the odds. Spot Bitcoin ETF flows that were strong in 2025 have reversed. Ongoing uncertainty about inflation and trade policy and the absence of a clear catalyst for a large rally are also cited.
On X, user Killa wrote, “There’s absolutely no chance we’re seeing $100K this year… I see $100K sometime next year, likely in late Q2 or Q3.” Another account, Dr. Whale, posted a bullish outlook. Rachel Crypto referenced historical cycle patterns and highlighted prior recoveries that rose about 77%–84%.
Prediction markets differ from surveys and analyst targets because participants put real money behind positions. Traders and observers say Kalshi prices offer a real‑time view of where money is placed but do not constitute a forecast on their own.
The timing contracts tied to the CF Bitcoin Real‑Time Index had more than $10 million wagered across them, creating a sizable pool of capital expressing these odds.
