Istanbul Blockchain Week June 2-3 as Türkiye crypto use rises

Istanbul Blockchain Week returns June 2-3 at the Hilton Bomonti Hotel in Istanbul as Chainalysis reports Türkiye’s on-chain crypto transactions near $200 billion annually.

Istanbul Blockchain Week will take place on June 2 and 3 at the Hilton Bomonti Hotel in Istanbul. Organizers cite Chainalysis data showing Türkiye’s annual on-chain crypto transaction volume is approaching $200 billion, the largest in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The fifth edition is produced by Web3 marketing firm EAK Digital. The two-day program is scheduled to include main-stage sessions, a large expo, workshops, roundtables and a KOL Summit that organizers say will focus on current Web3 topics and practical applications.

Chainalysis data cited by the event shows Türkiye’s on-chain volume is roughly four times the level recorded in the United Arab Emirates. Organizers attribute the high use of crypto to prolonged inflation and currency volatility that have led some residents to use digital assets for saving and investing.

Conference tracks will address local market growth and regulatory developments and present projects working on tokenized real-world assets, AI-enabled applications, privacy tools and stablecoin infrastructure. Session formats will include fireside chats, panels and hands-on workshops aimed at engineers, entrepreneurs and institutional participants.

Organizers expect attendees from Europe, the Middle East and Asia and note Istanbul’s geographic position between major financial centers such as Dubai and London as a factor attracting international delegations. Past editions featured protocol founders, exchange executives and regulators; previous speakers included Justin Sun and Ali İhsan Güngör.

Erhan Korhaliller, CEO of EAK Digital and founder of Istanbul Blockchain Week, commented that the team plans to build on last year’s results to expand programming and create more opportunities for learning and networking.

Recent editions have reported more than 20,000 attendees and over 500 speakers. The conference program includes investor roundtables and curated networking designed to connect startups with capital and partners. Early sponsorship opportunities are open and organizers say tickets and detailed program information will be published ahead of the event.
