Inveniam to Acquire Mantra After OM Token Collapse
Inveniam Capital Partners plans to acquire layer-1 blockchain Mantra and its affiliates after the OM token plunged about 90% on April 13, 2025, erasing more than $5 billion.
Inveniam Capital Partners will acquire layer-1 blockchain Mantra and its affiliated entities, the firm announced Tuesday. The planned transaction follows a $20 million strategic investment Inveniam made in Mantra in August 2025 and comes after Mantra’s OM token fell roughly 90% on April 13, 2025, wiping more than $5 billion from market value.
Inveniam highlighted recent technical work on Mantra, including the May 13 launch of NVNM Chain, a layer-2 network built on Mantra designed to verify assets tied to tokens without exposing confidential data. The company framed the acquisition as an expansion of its work in tokenized real-world assets and an effort to combine regulated blockchain infrastructure with private market data prepared for AI use.
Patrick O’Meara, Inveniam’s chairman and CEO, described the deal as a way to speed the company’s entry into digital private markets and to deliver tokenized private market offerings to market operators, asset owners and institutional investors. He said Inveniam’s earlier investment in Mantra informed development of NVNM Chain.
Mantra’s CEO John Patrick Mullin called the prior year the company’s most challenging, noting layoffs and a reorganization in January. Mullin attributed the rapid April 13 token decline to what he called “reckless forced closures initiated by centralized exchanges on OM account holders” and added that team and investor tokens remained locked under published vesting schedules.
According to Inveniam, the acquisition will broaden its infrastructure footprint in tokenization and AI and speed the integration of private market data into regulated systems. The company did not disclose financial terms or a closing timeline, and Mantra did not respond to requests for comment.
NVNM Chain is intended to support verification of off-chain assets that back tokens without revealing sensitive information, a capability Inveniam says is important for institutional use of tokenized private assets.
