How creators can make $1 AI product ads for TikTok, YouTube

Creators can produce 10-second product ads for TikTok and YouTube for roughly $1 per clip using a workflow built on three AI tools. TikTok Shop recorded $64.3 billion in global sales in 2025. The approach uses a clean product photo, image and text-generation models, and a short-form video generator with minimal live filming.
Begin with a cropped product image that shows only the item, with no background clutter or watermarks. An image model, using GPT Image 2, places a photorealistic person wearing or holding the product while preserving color, texture and proportions from the reference photo. Users can change demographic details and settings in the prompt to match their target audience.
A conversational model generates a tightly timed 10-second script formatted as a JSON timeline. The timeline specifies on-screen actions, camera behavior and exact dialogue so the video model follows the beats and gestures. Creators must review the timeline because structured outputs can be literal and may repeat actions to fill unassigned seconds.
A multimodal video model, Gemini Omni in Google Flow, renders up to 10 seconds of footage with native audio from the image and JSON timeline. Developers estimate Omni’s API cost at about $0.10 per second, which makes a 10-second clip roughly $1 of compute. Omni embeds an invisible SynthID watermark in generated footage that identifies it as AI-created.
Final editing and captions are handled on mobile with CapCut. The free tier supports trimming and manual captions. CapCut Pro unlocks animated, word-by-word caption styles commonly used on TikTok for a monthly or annual fee.
Platform and program rules differ. TikTok Shop allows sellers to open a store with no followers, requires sellers to be at least 18, provide government ID and matching bank details, and usually approves accounts within about three days. TikTok charges a 6% referral fee on most orders. Affiliates must apply with 1,000 followers and reach full program access with 5,000 followers plus 30 days in the program.
YouTube lowered its Shopping Affiliate program threshold to 500 subscribers for eligible Partner Program creators in multiple countries and offers access to Omni inside YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app for users 18 and older. Google Flow also provides limited free daily credits for some models, while Omni in Flow typically requires a paid plan.
Both TikTok and YouTube require creators to disclose realistic AI-generated images, audio or video and to mark commercial relationships. TikTok additionally requires advertisers running certain ad types to enable an AI-content option in its Ads Manager. X’s policies bar synthetic media that is deceptively presented or could cause serious harm and require ads to be honest and lawful.
Data on seller performance shows high competition. Camille Moore, president of Third Eye Insights, reported that of 803,500 TikTok Shop stores operating in the U.S. last year, more than half recorded zero sales. The tools reduce production cost, while platform rules, program thresholds and market competition remain factors for creators testing short-form commerce creative.
