Gomining Mines First Live Stratum V2 Bitcoin Block
On June 25, 2026 Gomining used Stratum V2 on the DMND pool to build and declare its own Bitcoin block template, including GoBTC Pay transactions.
Gomining mined what industry participants describe as the first live Bitcoin block created with a miner-declared template using the Stratum V2 protocol on the DMND mining pool on June 25, 2026. The company assembled the production block locally, selected the transactions and submitted the declared job to DMND for hashing and broadcast. The block included payments processed through GoBTC Pay, an open-source instant payment protocol that settles in native bitcoin.
Stratum V2 is an open-source mining protocol designed to improve security, lower data latency and return transaction-selection authority to miners. Gomining used Stratum V2’s job declaration feature to build a block template on site and declare that job to the pool. DMND coordinated the distribution of mining work and payouts while accepting the miner-supplied template.
For more than a decade, pool operators typically assembled block templates and chose which transactions to include and in what order. Under the declared-job model, a miner supplies the finalized template and the pool maintains work assignment and reward aggregation.
Mark Zalan, CEO of Gomining, wrote in a company statement: “By creating our own block template and including GoBTC Pay transactions, we are demonstrating one practical capability that Stratum V2 enables.” Alejandro De La Torre, CEO and co-founder of DMND, commented: “GoMining declared the template and included their GoBTC Pay payments with no pool in the way. We built DMND for exactly this.”
Gomining also announced an integration with Babylon’s Trustless Bitcoin Vault system. The integration allows holders to lock up to 1,000 bitcoins in onchain vaults and programmatically commit those locked funds to Gomining’s industrial mining operations to earn native mining yields without moving coins to other chains or surrendering custody to centralized third parties.
Providers of mining firmware, pool software and miner control systems will evaluate the technical implementation and compatibility with existing operations as they consider adopting Stratum V2. Supporters say the event represents the first known live production use of a miner-declared template under Stratum V2.
