Fireblocks has disputed reports that Visa is in advanced talks to acquire the crypto custody and infrastructure provider for about $2.5 billion. Visa declined to comment on the reported discussions.
Reports published Thursday, citing multiple sources, described the talks as advanced. A Fireblocks spokesperson told Cointelegraph the company was aware of rumors about a possible acquisition but rejected them.
“This is news to us, and not true at present time,” the spokesperson said.
The reported price would be substantially below Fireblocks’ last publicly disclosed valuation of more than $8 billion. The company announced that valuation after raising $550 million in a Series E funding round in January 2022.
Data provider Tracxn listed Fireblocks’ valuation at $8 billion as recently as Dec. 11, 2025. Visa has a policy of not commenting on “rumors or speculation.”
