The European Blockchain Convention returns to Barcelona on October 16-17, 2025, as Europe's largest blockchain gathering. The event will host over 6,000 delegates, 300+ speakers from major institutions, and introduce a meeting program with 10,000+ pre-scheduled connections – aiming to redefine networking at blockchain events.
The 11th edition of the European Blockchain Convention (EBC) represents a major step forward for the seven-year-old event, expanding to become the continent's most significant blockchain gathering in 2025. Barcelona will serve as the venue for two days of industry discussions, dealmaking, and product launches.

Traditional finance meets digital assets

The speaker roster reflects growing institutional interest in the sector. Executives from traditional banks including Banco Santander, BBVA, J.P. Morgan, and BNP Paribas will share the stage with representatives from crypto-native firms such as Bitpanda, OKX, CoinFund, Galaxy, and Bullish. Asset managers KKR and Bitwise Asset Management will also participate, alongside blockchain protocols Algorand and others.

Daniel Salmeron, co-founder of EBC, noted the shift in participation:
The participation of so many traditional banks and financial institutions demonstrates their optimism about the future of crypto and digital assets.

Europe's largest crypto meetings program

A new feature for 2025 is a structured one-on-one meetings program, designed to facilitate direct connections between attendees. Organizers expect more than 10,000 pre-scheduled meetings throughout the two-day event – a scale rarely seen at European blockchain conferences.
We have seen an extraordinary increase in registrations and interest from exhibitors after the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our previous edition,
said Victoria Gago, co-founder of EBC.

Content agenda and key themes

Sessions will cover tokenization of funds and securities, stablecoin infrastructure, AI agents in crypto, institutional demand and ETF products, layer-1 and layer-2 scaling solutions, decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN), restaking mechanisms, user-centric Web3 design, and corporate Bitcoin treasury strategies.

Startup competition and hackathon

The event will host its third annual Start-up Battle, a pitch competition featuring 50 European blockchain startups presenting to a live audience. A separate 48-hour hackathon will run alongside the main conference, with over 200 developers, 30+ mentors, and 20 teams expected to participate.

Networking beyond the venue

Organizers have planned several off-site activities to complement the conference program. A sunset beach party, morning beach run, curated wine tasting, and Michelin-starred restaurant tour are scheduled to give attendees access to Barcelona’s cultural highlights.
The timing coincides with three other Barcelona events: the Sitges Film Festival, the Salón Náutico maritime exhibition, and CSIO Barcelona, an international equestrian competition.

The European Blockchain Convention runs October 16-17, 2025, at a Barcelona venue. Registration and agenda details are available at eblockchainconvention.com.
