ESMA Adds 12 Firms to MiCA Register; CASPs Reach 321
ESMA added 12 firms to its MiCA register in a July 31 update, bringing the number of authorized crypto-asset service providers to 321 across Germany, Spain and France.
The European Securities and Markets Authority published a July 31 update adding 12 companies to the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) register, bringing the total number of authorized crypto-asset service providers to 321.
The newly authorized providers include three German cooperative banks — Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Oberbayern Südost, VR Bank Schleswig-Holstein Mitte and VR-Bank Landau-Mengkofen — two Spanish firms, Basque Pay and Fintech Payments, and four French companies: Finary, Woorton, Blockchain Process Security and Shares Financial Assets.
The update did not add any asset-referenced token issuers. The number of authorized e-money token issuers remains at 41, and no asset-referenced token issuers are listed on the related register.
ESMA also added three companies to its non-compliant entities register following notifications from Italy’s Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB). The firms included on the non-compliant list are Cervo Rendisco, Flandenzo and Corona Fondenza, bringing that register to 167 entries.
The MiCA register records entities authorized to provide crypto-asset services under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation. The update is the fourth published by ESMA since the MiCA transitional deadline ended on July 1 and reflects ongoing authorizations and notifications by national regulators.
The July 31 publication separates the lists of authorized service providers from the issuer registers for e-money tokens and asset-referenced tokens, which saw no changes in this update.
