Coinbase-backed x402 launches Agentic.market for AI agents
Agentic.market is a marketplace where AI agents can find, compare and autonomously buy or sell services using agent wallets and stablecoin payments, without API keys.
Coinbase-backed payments standard x402 launched Agentic.market on April 20, 2026. The marketplace lets AI agents discover, compare and autonomously buy and sell services using agent wallets and stablecoin payments, with no API keys required.
Agentic.market combines a web storefront for people to browse services with a programming layer that supplies agents with “skills” — code that explains how to use a service — and an agent wallet that can execute payments and receive fees.
The marketplace lists apps and websites agents can call on, including CoinGecko, Google Flights and X. The platform is designed to allow agents to add new capabilities autonomously at runtime.
Coinbase product lead Nick Prince unveiled the platform in a video posted April 20, 2026, saying “give humans and their agents access to thousands of services, with zero API keys required.” He described Agentic.market as a “storefront for discovering, comparing, and using x402 services” and said the programming layer lets agents “search, filter, and integrate new capabilities autonomously at runtime without a human in the loop.”
Prince noted hundreds of thousands of AI agents have already transacted hundreds of millions in volume and that users previously relied on fragmented sources to find compatible services. Agentic.market is intended to centralize discovery and simplify service integration.
The x402 protocol, introduced by Coinbase in May 2025, enables AI agents to make internet payments using stablecoins and takes its name from the HTTP 402 “Payment Required” status code.
Support for the standard expanded earlier in April when Google, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services backed the creation of an x402 Foundation to govern the protocol. Other firms expressing initial intent or support include American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Cloudflare, Shopify, Stripe, Circle, Base, Polygon Labs, the Solana Foundation, Thirdweb and KakaoPay.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong predicted “there will be more AI agents transacting online than humans very soon.” Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire forecast “literally billions of AI agents” could be transacting on blockchains within three to five years.
Agentic.market relies on x402’s stablecoin payment flows for wallet and payments support and uses a skills framework to standardize how agents interact with third-party services. The marketplace provides a place for companies to publish services for agents to find and use autonomously while allowing humans to evaluate options through the web interface.
