Chainalysis disclosed a cybersecurity incident and found no evidence attackers accessed investigation content, credentials or session tokens. Some non-sensitive customer data was exposed.
Blockchain analytics company Chainalysis disclosed a cybersecurity incident on Friday and reported no evidence that attackers accessed investigation content, authentication credentials or session tokens. Some non-sensitive customer data was exposed.
The company did not disclose how the incident occurred or specify which data was affected. It described the event as similar to recent attacks against other platforms.
Chainalysis has hired independent cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident and review its security defenses. The company is also using large language models to help assess its protections and strengthen its systems.
Chainalysis said the incident was unrelated to the recent cryptocurrency theft at Binance. It did not provide further details about that case or say whether the events involved similar methods.
In a separate Friday post on X, Chainalysis reported that suspected North Korea-linked hacks accounted for almost 89% of reported cryptocurrency hacking losses in 2026, up from 15% in 2021. The company has also tracked networks of intermediaries allegedly helping North Korean information-technology workers convert stolen cryptocurrency into cash.
