BlackRock’s IBIT $528M Outflow; HYPE, Solana Inflows

BlackRock’s IBIT saw a $527.84M redemption on May 27 as bitcoin ETFs lost $733.43M and ether ETFs dropped $67.15M; HYPE added $3.4M, VSOL $557,160.

On Wednesday, May 27, bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds recorded net outflows. BlackRock’s IBIT led the selling with a $527.84 million redemption. Bitcoin ETFs in total lost $733.43 million, while ether ETFs posted $67.15 million in outflows. Altcoin-focused HYPE funds drew $3.40 million and Vaneck’s Solana ETF VSOL added $557,160.

Bitcoin ETFs posted their eighth straight day of net withdrawals. Six major bitcoin funds reported redemptions and none reported inflows for the session. Grayscale’s GBTC saw $104.76 million leave, Fidelity’s FBTC had $60.30 million in outflows, Bitwise’s BITB lost $17.48 million, Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB gave up $17.39 million and the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust recorded $9.94 million in outflows. Total value traded in bitcoin ETFs on the day was about $2 billion. Combined net assets across bitcoin ETFs closed at $96.45 billion.

Ether ETFs extended a 12-day streak of outflows. BlackRock’s ETHA recorded a $65.10 million withdrawal and Fidelity’s FETH posted $2.05 million in outflows. No ether ETF registered fresh inflows during the session. Total value traded in ether ETFs was $517.76 million, and net assets across the group finished at $11.63 billion.

Altcoin products saw selective inflows. HYPE-branded funds attracted $3.40 million, with 21Shares’ THYP adding $1.73 million and Bitwise’s BHYP adding $1.68 million. HYPE traded $118.97 million in value and closed with net assets of $118.97 million. Vaneck’s VSOL received $557,160, with $33.04 million traded and net assets ending at $963.13 million. XRP ETFs showed no trading activity, leaving net assets at $1.12 billion.

An ETF analyst noted IBIT’s $528 million withdrawal was the fund’s second-largest single-day outflow since launch, and that the amount represented under 1% of the fund’s cumulative historical inflows. The analyst also observed IBIT sits among the top 2% of all ETFs by year-to-date net inflows, at roughly $2 billion, with cumulative inflows near $64 billion.

Across bitcoin and ether ETFs, combined outflows for the session totaled about $800.58 million. Two prior trading days for bitcoin ETFs recorded roughly $1 billion in outflows.
